On Sunday, June 22, 2025, our small beloved congregation unanimously voted to become a Reconciling Church within the Reconciling Ministries Network. This means that we intentionally advocate for LGBTQ+ persons in the life and ministries of the United Methodist Church, including ordination.
We have a close partnership with Mosaic Community Church UCC, and this partnership, along with our own understandings of Holy Scripture, of our Wesleyan theological traditions, means that we are advocate for any who is at risk of being marginalized, repressed, mistreated, or in threat of being erased from the pages of history.
We have a lengthy history of working with immigrants, unhoused, hungry, with any who desire to live a full life, yet are currently prevented from doing so.
Therefore, we offer the following as our explanation and purpose from this point forward in our journey of faith:

Mayfair Height United Methodist Church
We are the Mayfair Heights United Methodist Church and are committed to following the way of Jesus and Love ALL People! We view ourselves as a “Church with Heart in the Heart of the City,” and may be small in numbers but we are mighty in Spirit.
Our style of worship might be considered traditional, yet we are committed to worship with dignity and respect for all people and incorporate inclusive language for all.
We differ in race, age, gender, cultural background, marital status, sexual orientation, physical and mental ability, gender identity, family structure, political stance, theological perspective, life circumstances and spiritual journey.
Diversity is a gift from God, and we are called to celebrate our differences as well as what makes us the same. We know that the church has at times rejected diversities and denied God’s promises for itself and for others. So, without reservation, we proclaim:
“Everyone is a beloved child of God, embraced and welcomed to the table of our loving Lord. Together let us share God’s love completely and make a transforming difference in God’s world!”
